Due to suspicions of corruption against him connected to illegal gold mining, Ghana’s junior finance minister was fired. Charles Adu Boahen has received a prosecutor’s referral from President Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to a documentary, Mr. Boahen had allegedly requested prospective investors for $230,000 (£196,000) to send to the vice president in order to make sure a deal would go through. The junior finance minister has not spoken thus far.

The vice-president of the nation claimed he was unaware of any meetings where Mr. Boahen had allegedly used his name to gain favor.
