Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragic accident at Abagana Market. The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday when a Toyota Sienna lost control and crashed into the Oye-Agu Abagana Market in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The crash claimed the lives of three people, including a young child, while several others were left with serious injuries. Many traders standing by the roadside were hit, and goods were destroyed in the chaos.

Ben Okongwu, the President-General of the Abagana Community, confirmed that three people had died and others were injured in the incident.

In a message shared on Thursday, Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, called on the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to reinforce road safety regulations.

Obi wrote, “The news of the fatal accident at Abagana Market is truly heartbreaking. I urge the FRSC to intensify efforts in enforcing road safety rules and ensuring road users follow traffic laws. My thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, and I pray for a swift recovery for those injured.”
