Voting has officially ended in Abuja, but there are still long lines at certain polling locations that I have visited.

Some who are still waiting say they are determined to vote despite the 34-degree heat.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) has stated that everyone in line will be permitted to vote.

The hectic start has been attributed to the late arrival of ballot material and officials, as well as malfunctioning voting machines.

Notwithstanding these setbacks, Abuja remains calm.
There was a large military presence earlier in the day, which has since disappeared.

They are being patient, but how long that patience will endure is unknown.
