As of Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024, Nigerian athletes have secured the second-highest medal count in the ongoing 2024 All-African Games in Ghana.

While Egypt maintains a dominant position atop the medal standings, Nigerian athletes have showcased impressive performances throughout the tournament.

Egypt leads the medal tally with an outstanding 53 gold medals, along with 21 silver and 20 bronze medals. With the Games ongoing until March 23, 2024, Egypt’s medal count is expected to further increase as their athletes continue to compete in various events.

Team Nigeria, having finished second overall in the previous edition of the Games, holds firm in second place once again. Nigerian athletes have earned a commendable total of 22 gold medals, accompanied by 10 silver and 16 bronze medals, highlighting their competitive spirit and dedication.

To narrow the gap with Egypt, Team Nigeria aims to secure an additional 32 gold medals, showcasing their determination to excel in the remaining events of the African Games.

Other nations making their mark in the top five of the medals table include Algeria, South Africa, and Tunisia, adding to the competitive atmosphere of the tournament.
