Angel Reese is honored. Shaquille O’Neal considers her the greatest athlete in LSU history… but the college basketball star believes the accolade is premature, claiming she hasn’t done enough to merit it.
Remember, Shaq’s initial remarks sparked a lot of debate… when he said, “[Angel Reese’s] probably the greatest athlete ever to come out of LSU Sports.” “Did you hear what I just said?” said the Big Fella. “Both male and female.”

Reese went to the Breakfast Club on Monday with her teammate Flau’jae Johnson and admitted she called the NBA legend after the controversial take.
Angel claims she spoke with Shaq, whom she refers to as “Uncle,” and asked, “Do you know how much pressure you just put on me?” O’Neal, according to Reese, stated that he didn’t give a f***.
Reese, who went viral for making the “You Can’t See Me” gesture to Iowa star Caitlin Clark during the national championship game, said she’d need to win another championship before accepting the G.O.A.T. title.
Of course, Angel’s humility will likely go over well with Olympian Lolo Jones, who chastised fellow Tigers alum Shaq for having the “audacity” to claim that Reese, whom she admires, is the best athlete in LSU history.
Nonetheless, Angel and Flau’jae have lived their best lives since defeating the Hawkeyes in the NCAA championship game. Reese stated that several rappers, including Drake, Future, DJ Khaled, and French Montana, have congratulated her.
It feels good to be the champions!
