Recently, Azealia Banks took to her Instagram Story to express her thoughts on Doja Cat’s latest single, “Attention,” which leans more towards rap. The talented emcee from Harlem shared her opinion that Doja Lamar’s artistic vision falls short of its intended impact. While Doja Cat’s record received praise for its early ’90s-inspired sound, Banks held a different perspective. It’s worth noting that this critique comes just a week after Banks made negative comments about DC Youngfly following the loss of his partner, Jacky Oh.

In recent times, Azealia Banks has gained attention more for her social media presence than her music. She is known for speaking her mind on various topics, never hesitating to share her thoughts. Notably, she has targeted A-list celebrities like Dave Chappelle, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Joe Budden, and many others in her social media rants. While discussing Doja Cat, she even threw some shade towards Kendrick Lamar and West Coast rap.

It’s evident that Azealia Banks is no stranger to expressing her opinions openly, and her recent remarks about Doja Cat’s music are just one example. Despite the controversies surrounding her social media presence, Banks continues to captivate attention with her unfiltered commentary.

Azealia Banks recently shared her thoughts on the rap cultures of California and the East Coast/southern regions. According to her, she believes that California’s rap culture lacks the same level of dynamism, impact, and swag as its counterparts. While the hip-hop community celebrates the 50th anniversary of the genre, Banks doesn’t seem impressed by Doja’s recent tribute to hip-hop.

Banks didn’t stop there. She delved deeper into her opinion on Kendrick Lamar, stating that while he has some catchy hooks and verses, she considers him to be overrated and too complacent. She even suggested that he shouldn’t compare himself to artists like Drake or JAY-Z.

Interestingly, in her lengthy post, Banks oddly defended Nicki Minaj, despite having targeted her in the past. It’s difficult to predict what exactly is going on in Azealia Banks’ mind. We’ll have to wait and see if her remarks will elicit any response from the West Coast rappers she took shots at.
