Bandits Attack and Kill University Lecturer in Katsina State

In a tragic event, bandits have killed Dr. Tiri Gyan David, a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State. The attack occurred early Tuesday morning.

Dr. David, who served as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development, was attacked at his home in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area.

An eyewitness reported to Channels Television that the incident took place around 1:30 am. The bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community and fired shots to intimidate the residents. They also abducted two of Dr. David’s children.

Abubakar Sadiq, spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, confirmed the incident and mentioned that a detailed statement will be released soon.

Dutsinma is one of ten local government areas in Katsina State facing frequent bandit attacks, despite ongoing efforts by the state government and security agencies to restore peace.
