Big Brother Naija star Emuobonuvie “Neo” Akpofure has shared how a chance encounter with music mogul Don Jazzy a decade ago reshaped his life.
Taking to Instagram, Neo recalled being randomly selected as the winner of an MTV Base trivia competition, “A Day with Don Jazzy.” Though the prize included an all-expense-paid trip to South Africa with Don Jazzy and the Mavin crew for an award show, Neo couldn’t go because of his university exams.
Still, fate had other plans. Instead, he was flown to Lagos to meet Don Jazzy in person—and received a ₦500,000 reward that, according to him, changed everything.
“That single encounter made me believe I could truly be whoever I wanted to be,” Neo reflected. “It reignited a fire in me that no circumstance could put out.”
He described the moment as divine, sharing how grace found him during a period of self-doubt. Neo expressed heartfelt gratitude to Don Jazzy for unknowingly inspiring his dreams and to God for keeping every promise along the way.
Ten years on, he looks back with nothing but thanks: “I am a living testimony that when grace speaks, destiny listens.”
Don Jazzy, touched by the post, responded warmly:
