Ciara and GloRilla collaborate on the official remix of “Better Thangs.” The Memphis rapper reflects on her historic ascension while addressing her detractors on the Summer Walker-assisted song.
They took me as a joke, but now look who’s laughing, soakin’ up the game that the originals spill. She raps.
A video for “Better Thangs,” which will be on Ciara’s first album in three years together with “Jump,” was released in September.
The follow-up to 2019’s Beauty Marks features a “very R&B, hardcore R&B in the middle of this album,” she said to Apple Music. “In my opinion, my first record was the best of my career. With its dynamic tonality and basic R&B elements, I feel like this album has brought me exactly back where that one left off. I’ll say it again: I always want to move the globe. I want to set the planet on fire. I’ve always done it. However, something about this album just feels finished.
GloRilla’s popularity is still growing in the meantime. On Friday, November 11, she will release her 12-track EP Anyways, Life’s Great… after collaborating with Cardi B on “Tomorrow 2.”
