US Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid a visit to a renowned Ukrainian pizzeria during an unexpected trip to Kyiv, endorsing the eatery founded by a war veteran.

Joined by his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, Blinken indulged in slices from “Veterano Pizza,” a unique military-themed spot adorned with a glass tabletop featuring bullet casings.

Expressing his appreciation, Blinken praised the pizza’s quality, recommending it to others. The duo sampled both meat and vegetarian pizzas during their visit.

This outing marks a departure from their previous meet-up at McDonald’s, with Kuleba opting for a Ukrainian restaurant this time to showcase local cuisine.

Blinken’s visit to Kyiv follows Washington’s recent approval of a substantial $61 billion aid package for Ukraine, underscoring ongoing support for the nation.
