Popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has taken a legal step to protect his brand by trademarking the name “Ratel” and issuing a cease-and-desist notice to social media commentator VeryDarkMan.

Blord made the announcement via Instagram, where he warned VeryDarkMan to stop using the name without permission. The term “Ratel” is commonly used by the critic to describe his online supporters, but Blord says the name now belongs exclusively to his business.

According to Blord, the brand has been officially registered, and any further use of the name must be authorised by him. He revealed that his legal team has already been instructed to act.

“I have directed my SAN to issue a cease-and-desist notice to VDM to stop using my brand name ‘Ratel,’” Blord wrote. “Going forward, he will need my approval before using that name.”

This development adds another layer to the ongoing tension between the two public figures, whose rivalry has played out loudly on social media.

Their clash began in October 2025, when VeryDarkMan travelled to China to help Nigerian traders source affordable products and connect with suppliers. During that period, he publicly accused Blord of questionable business practices, including claims of inflated pricing and alleged fraud involving modified gadgets.

The situation escalated further after reports emerged that VeryDarkMan had submitted a petition to the police, calling for an investigation into Blord’s business operations.

With the trademark move now in place, the dispute has shifted from online exchanges to legal territory, drawing even more attention to the high-profile feud.
