Zuri Marley shared her dream collaboration choices during the red carpet interview at the premiere of Bob Marley’s new movie ‘One Love’.

She expressed her desire for her grandfather, the late Reggae legend Bob Marley, to collaborate with Nigerian music icons Burna Boy and Fela Kuti.

Zuri’s selection reflects the global impact and resonance of both Burna Boy and Fela Kuti’s music, echoing the powerful social and cultural messages championed by her grandfather, Bob Marley.

Fela Kuti, known for his Afrobeat sound, used his music as a tool to challenge social injustices in Nigeria, much like Bob Marley did in Jamaica. Similarly, Burna Boy’s music addresses the issues of corruption and injustice prevalent in Nigeria.

The release of Bob Marley’s movie ‘One Love’ by his estate, in partnership with Universal Music, marks a significant tribute to the Reggae icon’s legacy. The accompanying EP featuring covers of Bob Marley’s songs, including collaborations with Nigerian artists Wizkid and Bloody Civilian, further demonstrates the enduring influence of Marley’s music.

As Bob Marley’s estate continues to release new projects, Zuri Marley’s wish for a collaboration with Fela Kuti and Burna Boy may someday come to fruition, bridging generations and continents through music.
