Earlier, we reported on the distressing situation in Nigeria surrounding the abduction of a woman, Nabeeha, along with her five sisters, with unconfirmed reports of her tragic demise at the hands of the kidnappers. This incident has stirred outrage, particularly among the student community at Kaduna State’s Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), where Nabeeha and two of her sisters were enrolled.

The Students’ Representative Council at ABU issued a statement expressing sorrow over Nabeeha’s “unexpected and tragic death.” The student group strongly condemned the heartless act and urged the government to promptly rescue the remaining two sisters from the abductors. Tributes have been pouring in from fellow students, mourning the loss of Nabeeha and calling for swift action to ensure the safety of the remaining siblings.

The ABU chapter of the Nigerian Universities Engineering Students’ Association also extended their deepest condolences, denouncing the callous act of kidnapping. They emphasized Nabeeha’s significant contribution as a biological sciences student at ABU and expressed solidarity with the grieving family and friends. The void left by Nabeeha’s absence is keenly felt within the academic community, especially in the Faculty of Life Science.
