Cardi B has recently filed for divorce from Offset, initiating the legal process on Wednesday, July 31. The New York rapper is seeking primary custody of their two children, Kulture and Wave.

TMZ reports that despite efforts to mend their relationship, the couple couldn’t make it work. An insider shared that the split has been a long time coming, noting that the pair had become disconnected. They also mentioned that infidelity was not a factor, describing the separation as “amicable.”

The news quickly spread across social media, with fans reacting in various ways. Some expressed their sadness but anticipated that Cardi B’s next album would be impactful. Others joked about the possibility of the couple reuniting soon.

Cardi B first hinted at their separation in December 2023. Although they have been seen together since then, she addressed rumors of reconciliation on Twitter. In an Instagram Live session earlier this year, she criticized Offset, accusing him of manipulation and mistreatment.

Their relationship, which went public in 2017, has had its share of ups and downs. Cardi previously filed for divorce in September 2020 but withdrew the petition two months later, stating that she made the decision to leave without waiting for another controversy.

This latest development marks a new chapter for Cardi B as she moves forward.
