DopeNation accused Charterhouse, the company behind the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards of misclassifying the genre of their song ” Gboza” but Charterhouse has reacted.
The musical duo asserts that ” Gboza” belongs in the category of Best Afro-pop song even though it is a combination of House, Afrobeats, and Amapiano.
Robert Klah, in response to the latest claims of the scam on TV3, P.R.O, said the group was mistaken. Mr. Klah emphasized that the Afro-pop category in the plan included sounds like house music, Afrobeats, Amapiano, and alternative songs.

The PRO said that the problem was limited to DopeNation’s inability to comprehend their operational definition of how they define the categories. Conflicts can be readily resolved if people have a better understanding of these definitions.
” All that is needed for the situation to be resolved is for them to comprehend how we define categories in our operational definition. There is a standard and that is what we follow,” he said
