The family of renowned evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, has announced his peaceful passing.

In an emotional statement titled “Glorious Transition”, the family shared that the beloved preacher “passed on to glory” on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.

They described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross”, noting that he dedicated more than sixty years of his life to spreading the gospel through fiery preaching, deep biblical teachings, and powerful demonstrations of faith.

His ministry, they said, touched countless lives and transformed destinies across Nigeria and beyond.

The statement read:

“With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the triumphant homegoing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed on to glory on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80. A faithful soldier of the cross has been called to rest.

Dedicating over six decades of his life to passionate evangelism, dynamic teaching, and prophetic expressions of God’s power, he influenced millions and left an indelible mark on the world.

He was a spiritual leader, a founding father of faith, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a mentor to many. His life was a living testimony of God’s grace and love.

Though we deeply feel his absence, we rejoice knowing he has finished his race and now rests in eternal peace. Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.

We thank God for a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
