The St. Louis rapper, best known for singles like “Right Thurr” and “Holidae In,” is speaking out after being listed among the “50 Worst Rappers” on a list that has been trending on social media.
In addition to other “worst rappers” including Young Thug, 6ix9ine, Coi Leray, Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane, and Silkk the Shocker, who took the top spot on the list, Chingy was not pleased to see himself included at No. 27.
50 worst rappers of all time , no easy target .
ALL opinions are welcome . ✌️✌️ pic.twitter.com/CmsH6y37X2— Mr.kindness (Ekin Lee) (@Mrkindness7) August 26, 2022
It’s silly, he said to VladTV. It’s subjective, hence in my opinion it’s invalid. When you question each of the 7 billion individuals in the world, “Who’s your favorite rapper? You’ll probably receive a different response.
The 42-year-old continued by bragging about his successes. “I’ve sold over 50 million records globally, and I’m still successful, thanks to the fans who support me,” he said. I’m one of the worst rappers, how come? You are not the worst if no one else says it. That list should be eliminated since it is ridiculous.
He emphasized that he joins other well-known rappers like Master P in this regard, saying, “They got so many guys on there that have been meaningful, that have demonstrated leadership, that have [given]countless artists a means for their aspirations to come true. And they continue to sit there and denigrate those folks by claiming they are the worst rappers.
Chingy, though, is unwilling to place any value on the list. I know myself well enough to know that I’m not one of the worst rappers, so it means absolutely nothing to me. With all of these smash records under my belt, I can’t be considered one of the worst rappers.
Nearly 20 years have passed since Chingy released Jackpot, his self-titled debut album, which featured the No. 2 Billboard Hot 100 single “Right Thurr.” “Can’t Blame Me,” his most recent single, was released in August.
