Chlöe Bailey is letting the music do the talking.

The R&B singer released her single “How Does It Feel” with Chris Brown in February, but it wasn’t without controversy, with social media criticizing the collaboration due to Chris’ controversial past.

But Chlöe isn’t going down without a fight. While she has mostly remained silent on the subject, she addressed the backlash during an interview with V-103’s “Big Tigger Morning Show.”

“I always want to let the music speak for itself,” the “Swarm” star explained. “And, to be honest, no matter what I do, people always have something negative to say about it, so I’m used to it.”

She chooses not to feed it by not paying attention to it. “I simply choose to ignore it.” People have the right to their opinions and freedom of expression, and it is up to me to choose what I devote my time and energy to,” she added.
Kiely Williams, a former 3LW member, was among those who spoke out against Chlöe’s collaborator by bringing up his history with Rihanna.

“He gradually creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on the merits of Black Women,” Kiely said of Chris. “Black women who are more talented and deserving, but give him permission.” “I’m swatting the fu**ing air, rn.”

Chris was piqued by her tweet and responded to the “No More” singer. “Clearly, you are at a point in your life where you are either very broke or broken,” he wrote. “THE FACT that you feel the need to speak negatively about me makes you look so lame… YOUR LIFE AND CAREER MUST SUCK RIGHT NOW. I guess you don’t have a business or a real job that makes you financially stable.”

Chlöe keeps things moving. She stopped by the “Today” show to promote her debut album In Pieces, which was released on Friday and performed the title track.
