Chlöe Bailey is taking on her detractors once more.

The “Have Mercy” singer was asked about the criticism she has received for her sexy image, which she introduced when she launched her solo career while promoting her debut album In Pieces, which was released Friday.

Chlöe, who rose to fame with her sister Halle as R&B duo Chlöe x Halle, faced backlash from those who thought her photo shoots, music videos, and performances were too sexy.

Chlöe admits in an interview with People that the pressure got to her, especially when compared to her fellow female artists.

“I’ve never gotten it. I’d look around at my peers and think, “We’re all the same age.” They’re displaying as much as I am, if not more. But if I do it, I’ll be mocked to no end,” she recalled.

The negativity became so bad that she temporarily deleted Twitter. “As much as I would see it and pretend it didn’t bother or affect me, it did. “I started to believe the lies that the trolls were telling online, and I began to look down on myself even more than I already was with my insecurities,” Bailey explained. “I’ve been good since I ignored it.”

She was able to express herself through her music. “I was vulnerable, and I was like, ‘This project is going to be about all kinds of heartbreak — not just heartbreak with a romantic partner, but heartbreak with family and friends you trusted and thought would always be there for you,'” she explained. “Within yourself, heartbreak when it’s difficult to look in the mirror and say, ‘I love you,’ because you haven’t found that self-love yet.”

The 24-year-old singer-actress was also recently chastised for her sex scene in the Prime Video series “Swarm” with Damson Idris.

“I work as an actress.” “I was doing my job, and I think people need to remember that I’m an adult and an artist,” Chlöe said during her appearance on “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.” “There was nothing seen that they hadn’t seen from me.” You didn’t see anything, not even a nipple.”

In Pieces, Chlöe’s debut album is out now and features collaborations with Chris Brown, Future, and Missy Elliott.
