Nicholas Lloyd Webber, the eldest son of Andrew Lloyd Webber and a Grammy-nominated composer, and record producer died Saturday in England after a long battle with gastric cancer and pneumonia. He was 43.
“His entire family has gathered, and we are all completely bereft,” Webber, 75, said in a statement emailed to CBS News by a representative. “I appreciate all of your thoughts during this difficult time.”
Nicholas died in a hospital in Basingstoke, England, according to his father. Webber, the famed composer, missed the Broadway premiere of his “Bad Cinderella” on Thursday to be with his son and other loved ones.

Nicholas is best known for his work on BBC One’s “Love, Lies, and Records,” a drama based on the novel “The Little Prince.” He also contributed to his father’s 2021 “Cinderella,” which received a Grammy nomination for best musical theater album.
Nicholas is Webber’s son from his first marriage to Sarah Hugill, who also gave birth to his older sister, Imogen. Webber, the senior, has four other children.
