Comedian and TV host Teju Oyelakin, popularly known as Teju Babyface, has sparked debate with his thoughts on infidelity and relationships.

In a recent Instagram post, he cautioned against the idea of confessing to a partner after cheating, calling it one of the most damaging mistakes anyone can make in marriage.

According to him, a confession in such cases isn’t about honesty but about easing one’s own guilt at the expense of the relationship.

“Confession is for God, not your spouse,” he wrote. “When you ‘come clean,’ it’s not truth—it’s manipulation. You’re simply transferring your guilt, and there’s nothing in it for your partner. All the relief goes to you.”

While his take stirred mixed reactions online, a different conversation about relationships came from veteran actress Bimbo Akintola.

In an interview with Biola Bayo, the 55-year-old star argued that polygamy should be embraced as part of Nigeria’s cultural heritage. She noted that in traditional Yoruba households, men often had more than one wife, and some women still accept the practice today.

Akintola shared a story of a woman who introduced a second wife into her marriage because her husband’s needs were greater than what she could handle, and it brought peace to their home rather than conflict.

She added that some women prefer sharing a husband rather than living with constant pressure, but emphasized that raising disciplined boys is key to reducing the cycle of infidelity or unfaithfulness.

“Most men who cheat or embrace polygamy grew up without learning discipline and respect,” she said.
