Coolio died as a result of the effects of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamines, according to his manager, who confirmed the death to CBS News.

Coolio, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey Jr., died in Los Angeles last September. He was 59.

According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s report, the rapper died from heart disease and asthma and had recently used phencyclidine or PCP. According to CBS Los Angeles, his death was ruled accidental by the coroner’s office.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper was best known for his Grammy Award-winning single “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which appeared on the soundtrack for the 1995 film “Dangerous Minds,” starring Michelle Pfeiffer. After spending three weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the song is regarded as one of the most successful rap songs of all time.

In 1996, he recorded the opening theme “Aw, Here It Goes!” for the Nickelodeon television show “Kenan & Kel,” which starred Kenan Thompson.
