Don Jazzy was Davido’s mentor when he was growing up in the music industry, and even though he has grown up, he sees Don Jazzy as Jesus when they first met.
In response to Davido’s confession, veteran music producer Don Jazzy expressed how happy and proud he is of how fellow musician Davido has risen through the ranks.
Don Jazyy shared this on Instagram, along with a short clip of artists he’s worked with, and the caption;
That is how life is @davido. Now that I see everything you’ve accomplished, I’m extremely proud of you. Even with all of your success and wealth, I am inspired by your work ethic. I’m glad that as a mentor I haven’t let you down too. We thank GOD. More blessings bro.
Davido recently discussed his rise in the music industry, saying that Don Jazzy was his mentor. “My main strong point was that I knew how to make beats, I entered MOHITS and they liked my swag, Don Jazzy was my mentor,” he said.
Davido went on to say that the first time he saw Jazzy, he thought he was looking at Jesus, and he knew from then on that he would start meeting people and end up where he is now.
When he released Julie, he believed he had the biggest song at the time, saying, “I blew up when I was 17, I released DAMIDURO in October from there on the hustle is real.”
