Maryanne Trump Barry, Donald Trump’s elder sister, passed away at the age of 86 in her Manhattan home. This marks the third sibling of Donald to have passed away, with his elder brother Fred Trump Jr. in 1981 at 42 and his youngest brother Robert Trump in August 2020 at 71. Donald shared the news on Truth Social, praising his sister’s elegance, intelligence, and her role as a judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Reflecting on the impact of his presidency on her, Donald acknowledged the challenges she faced, stating, “Her life was largely problem-free, PERFECT, until I made it difficult for her when I decided to run for President.” During Donald’s presidential campaign, Barry faced public scrutiny, choosing not to defend herself due to her judicial position.

While Donald and Maryanne had a complex relationship, marked by Mary Trump’s recordings of Barry criticizing her brother, Donald concluded his post honoring her work as a judge and sister. He emphasized her intelligence, recalling compliments from others and stating, “She was a great Judge, and a great sister. She will be truly missed!”

Barry, appointed to the District Court in New Jersey in 1983 by Ronald Reagan, faced a misconduct investigation in 2019 related to alleged tax fraud in the 1980s and 1990s. Her retirement halted the inquiry, and she remained out of the public eye thereafter.
