Drake Breaks New Billboard Record with ‘Nokia’
Drake has once again made history, setting a new record for the most No. 1 hits by a male artist on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart.
His latest track, Nokia, from his joint album with PartyNextDoor, landed at the top spot—marking his 14th No. 1 hit and breaking the previous record of 13 he shared with Justin Bieber.
A Record-Breaking Streak
Lately, Drake has been on a winning streak. His latest album secured the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200, making it his 14th chart-topping album as a solo artist. This achievement ties him with Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums by a soloist.
The project, $ome $exy 4 U, follows a heated rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, which led to the widely discussed track Not Like Us. That song later became the center of a legal dispute with Universal Music Group, with Drake accusing the label of failing to prevent its release despite containing misleading claims. He also alleged that UMG used artificial means to boost streaming numbers.
Dominating the Charts
Drake continues to solidify his place at the top, recently being named the highest-selling rapper of 2024 by IFPI. He also ranked as the second best-selling artist overall, trailing only Taylor Swift, who has dominated the list for three consecutive years.
Other notable names on the ranking include Eminem at No. 8 and Kendrick Lamar at No. 9. This marks the tenth time Drake has secured a spot in IFPI’s top 10 and remains the best-selling rapper globally for a decade straight.
With his unmatched consistency, 2025 is shaping up to be another massive year for the Canadian superstar.
