During the Thursday session, both parties came to an agreement to settle the matter without going through court proceedings.
Renowned bartender Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, shared his frustrations regarding his encounters with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He cautioned his fellow Nigerians against getting involved with the anti-corruption agency, highlighting the immense pressure and stress it places on individuals facing trials.
Taking to Instagram, he expressed, “Court day, problem no good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh !!!! Better stay away from their wahala, I’m sure you will not love to pass through this Kinda stress I’m passing through.”
This development comes shortly after reports emerged of his decision to settle the matter outside of the courtroom.
Earlier, the EFCC had brought Cubana Chief Priest before a Federal High Court in Lagos on April 17, charging him with three offenses related to the spraying and defacing of Nigerian currency notes at a social gathering held at Eko Hotel. Despite pleading not guilty, he was granted bail in the amount of N10 million.
Justice Kehinde Ogundare had adjourned the case until May 2 to address a preliminary objection and proceed with the trial. However, during the Thursday session, both parties opted for a resolution outside of court.
