German youth coach Helge Rasche, who led the Under-19 team at Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, tragically passed away in a car accident on Thursday, September 5, 2024. According to German news outlet BILD, Rasche crashed his white Hyundai into a tree while driving on a road between Dietzenbach and Rodgau, southwest of Frankfurt. Sadly, he succumbed to the injuries from the accident.

Eintracht Frankfurt expressed their sorrow in an official statement on their X page, mourning the loss of the 33-year-old coach. The statement read: “Eintracht Frankfurt is devastated by the loss of U19 head coach Helge Rasche. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in peace.”

Rasche had a dedicated career, nurturing young talent in the Under-19 team, which had been performing well in the youth league (Group D) under his guidance.

The football community has united to honor his memory, with clubs across Germany sending condolences. Hannover 96, one of the many clubs, posted a heartfelt tribute: “We are deeply saddened. We remember Helge Rasche as a friendly, hardworking, and kind colleague. Our thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace, Helge.”
