At the 57th Special Congregation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, emphasized the importance of fairness and transparency in the upcoming 2024 elections. He called upon officials of the Electoral Commission of Ghana to uphold these principles throughout the electoral process to ensure the general acceptance of the election results.

Otumfuo stressed the need for the Electoral Commission to act as an impartial arbiter and conduct the elections with fairness, transparency, and integrity. He highlighted that the credibility of the election outcome hinges upon the Commission’s commitment to these principles.

Additionally, Otumfuo urged political parties and their supporters to maintain respectful discourse during the campaign period. He emphasized the significance of fostering an environment of mutual respect and constructive dialogue, discouraging divisive rhetoric and incendiary language.

In emphasizing the importance of safeguarding democratic institutions, Otumfuo called for unity among all stakeholders in upholding the integrity of Ghana’s democratic process.
