Elina Svitolina Receives an Invitation from Harry Styles as She Advances in Wimbledon.

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has showcased her remarkable skills, securing a spot in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. However, her journey to this stage has involved making sacrifices, including giving up tickets to a much-anticipated Harry Styles concert. Luckily for Svitolina, the music icon himself has expressed a desire to help her attend the show.

Following her advancement in the tournament, Wimbledon shared Svitolina’s message on Instagram, where she lamented her scheduling conflict: “Hey guys!! I was supposed to go see my fav Harry Styles concert in Vienna tomorrow… But Wimbledon changed my plans. Does someone want to go? I have two tickets.”

The caption accompanying the post fittingly reads, “You win some, you lose some.” Although she had to forgo the Sunday concert, Svitolina emerged victorious in her match against Victoria Azarenka from Belarus and is now preparing to face Iga Swiatek, the top-ranked player, on Tuesday.

The news of Svitolina’s post and her concert dilemma reached the eyes of Harry Styles himself, who left a comment for the tennis star, saying, “Congratulations! We have four shows to go, you’re welcome at any of them. Good luck with the rest of the tournament.”

Harry Styles, a three-time Grammy winner, has been captivating audiences with his “Love on Tour” for over a year. The widely popular world tour included impressive 15-show residencies at Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. As Styles wraps up his tour, he will be performing in Barcelona on July 12, Madrid on July 14, Portugal on July 18, and Reggia Emilia, Italy, on July 22. With Wimbledon concluding on July 16, there is hope that Svitolina can seize Styles’ offer and attend one of his concerts.

Although Svitolina is currently ranked 79th among women’s tennis singles players, she has showcased her prowess by defeating renowned opponents such as Venus Williams, Elise Mertens from Belgium, Sofia Kenin from the United States, and Victoria Azarenka from Belarus at Wimbledon.

“After giving birth, this is the second happiest moment of my life,” Svitolina expressed after her victory on Sunday. She also mentioned that during the match, she drew inspiration from the support of people back home in Ukraine who were watching and cheering for her.

Following her win, Svitolina chose not to shake hands with Victoria Azarenka, leading to some boos from the crowd. This decision stemmed from Svitolina’s stance to not shake hands with Russian or Belarusian players as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with Belarus supporting the attack. Azarenka acknowledged that the booing was unfair, stating, “There’s nothing to say. She doesn’t want to shake hands with Russian, Belarusian people. What should I have done? Stayed and waited? There’s nothing that I could do that would have been right. So I did what I thought was respectful toward her decision.”

The journey continues for Elina Svitolina as she strives for success on the tennis court, fueled by her talent, determination, and the support of her fans around the world.
