For a variety of reasons, the Musk family frequently dominates the media spotlight.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and Twitter, ended his relationship with Grimes in September 2021; however, the ex-couple is still very friendly, as the ex-couple has two children together who have also made headlines for their unusual names.

The first of the two, born in 2020, was Musk’s seventh child, and his name sparked a lot of interest: X A-12.

Grimes took the initiative at the time to explain the significance of that decision. X represents an unknown variable; A-12 represents the Elvish equivalent of Ai, which can be translated as love or artificial intelligence; and X represents an unknown variable.

Naturally, the name had to be changed because it violated California state law, which prohibits the use of numbers. Both revealed that he was known as ‘X’ in the family.

‘Y’, the new name of Elon Musk’s daughter

Following the birth of ‘X,’ a baby girl was born in December 2021 as a result of a surrogacy pregnancy. Exa Dark Siderael was the name Grimes and Musk gave her at first.

That is no longer the case, and Grimes herself announced the change on social media, explaining her reasoning.

Grimes announced the girl’s new name, ‘Y,’ in a photo shared on her ex-social partner’s network, Twitter.

She posted a photo of herself and a picture of the little girl, along with the message “Y – C.” Her nickname would be C, which is the symbol for light.

Grimes also explained why that name was chosen: “She is now ‘Y,’ ‘Why?,’ or simply ‘?’. (However, the government will not accept it). Curiosity, the eternal question, and other such things.”

Everything points to the new name being used only within the family, as was the case with the first-born ‘X’.
