Enioluwa Replies X User Questioning The Use Of Same Actors In Nollywood

Nollywood actor and social media personality Enioluwa recently weighed in on why Nigerian films often feature the same familiar faces. This conversation sparked on November 11, 2024, when an X user reacted to actress Jemima Osunde’s post about the new YouTube movie Fame and Fury. The user remarked,“I’m sincerely tired of seeing the same faces in this damn industry.”

Osunde didn’t hold back, responding sharply,“We’re tired of seeing your face too in your office. Damn! I hope they sack you.”

Enioluwa then joined the discussion on X, addressing the repeated casting in Nollywood films. He explained that financial limitations play a significant role. In his post, he wrote:

“People often say they’re tired of seeing the same faces in Nigerian films. But unlike Hollywood, actors in Nigeria can’t survive on one film a year—how much are they paying? The industry simply can’t support as many new faces as people want because, realistically, many newcomers wouldn’t be able to make ends meet. Fame without financial stability isn’t appealing to anyone.”

In response, another X user asked Enioluwa for actionable ideas, encouraging him to suggest ways to improve the situation rather than just describing the issue.

Enioluwa further clarified, “Our industry’s buying power is still growing, especially with the arrival of streaming platforms and record-breaking box office successes. But we can’t yet compare Nollywood to Hollywood, where movies like Avengers can gross over $2 billion and pay actors millions while still turning a huge profit.”
