The Netherlands staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Turkey and advance to the Euro 2024 semi-finals. Despite Turkey’s strong start, the Dutch team managed to turn the game around in a thrilling quarter-final clash.

Turkey dominated the first half, creating a sense of impending victory. Their confidence was rewarded when Samet Akaydin scored in the 35th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Dutch struggled to break through Turkey’s defense until the 70th minute when Stefan de Vrij found the back of the net, leveling the score. Just six minutes later, an unfortunate own goal by Turkish defender Mert Müldür shifted the momentum entirely in favor of the Netherlands.
