The veteran actor took offense to Longoria’s comments and defended daytime actors.

During an interview with Chris Wallace, Eva Longoria mentioned her appearance on CBS’s hit show “The Young and the Restless” a few decades ago.

“When I got Young and the Restless, it didn’t pay well enough for me to support myself as an actor. So I kept working as a headhunter and watching Young and the Restless….. I would hide the fact that I was watching Young and the Restless from my clients because they didn’t want a dumb actress handling their accounts.”

Longoria admitted to having another job and attempting to conceal her involvement in the CBS soap opera.

And one of my clients once said to me, ‘You look like a girl from a soap opera.’ ‘No, I don’t know who that is,’ I say. I was the polar opposite of a publicist’s fantasy. “I was like, ‘Don’t tell anyone I’m on that show,’ because I was making more money at my day job,” Longoria explained on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?

Eric Braeden took offense to Eva Longoria’s comments

Eric Braeden, who played Victor Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” took offense to Longoria’s comments to Chris Wallace, taking his opinion to Twitter and criticizing the actress’ work on Desperate Housewives.

On Sunday, the Emmy Award-winning actor tweeted, “EVA LONGORIA: you just made derogatory remarks about daytime actors!” “You simply weren’t good enough to withstand the rigors of this medium! You were extremely fortunate to be cast in that ‘housewife’ show! You completed one show in 8 to 12 days, with mediocre but salacious dialogue!”
