Addressing Concerns: Ghana Bar Association Stands Firm on Justice and Fairness.

The President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Yaw Acheampong Boafo, recently responded to concerns regarding the perceived unfair treatment towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC) by the association.

Mr. Boafo reaffirmed the GBA’s commitment to upholding principles of justice and fairness for all political parties and individuals, including the NDC. During a discussion on the Citi Breakfast Show, he emphasized that Ghana’s legal system operates independently and without bias.

Assuring the public, Mr. Boafo stated that the GBA remains impartial and is dedicated to upholding the rule of law in all situations. Some members of the public had raised questions about the association’s alleged silence and lack of comments on certain events under the NPP administration compared to their vocal stance during the previous John Evans Atta Mills and John Mahama administrations.

However, Mr. Acheampong Boafo refuted these perceptions, calling them erroneous. He clarified that the Ghana Bar Association’s mandate is to ensure justice for all and does not discriminate based on political affiliations.

Mr. Boafo asserted, “Nobody can tell me that the Bar has treated the NDC under President Mills or Mahama worse than under the current president,” during the conversation with host Bernard Avle.

Moreover, the GBA President encouraged all political parties and citizens to have confidence in the judicial system and its ability to uphold the rule of law. By reiterating their dedication to justice and fairness, the Ghana Bar Association aims to foster trust and uphold the principles of a just society.
