Fred Nuamah, who was contesting as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency, has made the decision to step back from the race.

In a letter addressed to the party’s general secretary, Nuamah conveyed his choice to withdraw. He underlined that this decision was one he arrived at independently, after extensive consultations with key stakeholders. The letter, dated August 7, elucidates that this step was taken autonomously and devoid of external influences.

A well-known figure in the world of acting and film production, Nuamah expressed his belief in the significance of a unified front for the NDC as the 2024 elections approach. He emphasized the criticality of party cohesion and endorsed the mission of John Dramani Mahama to lead Ghana towards progress.

Nuamah extended his full support to his close associate, John Dumelo, who is now poised to become the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency following Nuamah’s withdrawal. With an earnest plea, he called upon all members of the constituency party to rally behind Dumelo, providing him with the unwavering support he requires.

With optimism in his voice, Nuamah highlighted the potential that lies in unity and collective effort, asserting that through collaboration, they can secure victory in the 2024 elections and contribute positively to Ghana’s trajectory.

In conclusion, Nuamah expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all those who supported him at the branch, ward, and constituency levels. This chapter may be closing, but the dedication and goodwill shared amongst the party members remain resolute.
