Ghanaian singer Fameye has revealed that he has been compensated with the amount of GHC25,000 for damages after a fuel station filled his Honda Pilot touring the 2019 model with fuel mixed with water.

Fameye was dissatisfied with a fuel station from which he purchased fuel a few weeks ago. According to Fameye, the fuel purchased to fill the tank of his 2019 Honda Pilot Touring was diluted with water, which harmed the engine of his vehicle.

The obviously agitated and frustrated musician took to Twitter to share his predicament with the public in the hopes of finding a solution.

“So few days ago ,I go buy fuel for one fuel station,700 cedis, the rest is heartbreaking They filled my tank with water mixed with petrol as I’m talking to you now my car Honda pilot touring 2019 model is spoilt Spent 7k already still not working!!! What do I do?,” he tweeted.

In an interview with TV3 New Day, the “Nothing I Get” singer revealed that he was compensated GHC25,000 for damages and that, while his car is back to normal and working properly, he is still saddened by the entire situation.

The National Petroleum Authority, Ghana’s statutory agency in charge of regulating, supervising, and monitoring the petroleum downstream industry, has repeatedly warned fuel stations not to infuse water into their products.

It has gone so far as to shut down fuel stations caught in the act, but the trend is still on the rise.
