The former President-General of Amansea Development Union in Anambra State, Cajetan Nwokike, tragically passed away due to an attack by unknown gunmen at his residence on Thursday morning.

This unfortunate event comes just under two months after the assassination of Silas Onyima, the President-General of Umuoji. Omife I, the National President of the Association of Past Presidents-General of Anambra State, confirmed Nwokike’s demise in a statement to the press on Friday.

Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, Omife urged Governor Charles Soludo to ensure that the perpetrators face justice. He emphasized the urgency of unveiling the culprits behind these series of killings.

The statement from the Association of Past Presidents-General of Anambra State (APPAS) detailed the tragic circumstances of Nwokike’s death, highlighting the senseless violence that claimed his life during his morning ritual of breaking kola nut.

APPAS expressed deep concern over the rising instances of such violence and called upon Governor Soludo and law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice. They expressed confidence in Governor Soludo’s ability to address the situation effectively, given his commendable track record in security management.

The loss of Chief Cajetan Nwokike is deeply felt within the Association, as he was a vibrant and active member. The statement reassured the deceased’s family of their support and vowed that his killers would face the consequences of their actions.
