Author alleges the couple made the decision for the King, palace aides reportedly taken by surprise
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of pressuring King Charles III to bestow royal titles on their children.
Princess Lilibet Diana, the couple’s daughter, was christened in a private ceremony last week at their California home. For the first time, the announcement revealed that the couple will use royal titles for their children.
As first reported by @People, a Sussex rep confirms: "I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor."

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the christening and stated that Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, are also princes and princesses.

However, Christopher Andersen, author of The King: The Life of Charles III, claims that the couple forced King Charles III to recognize his grandchildren’s royal titles in accordance with their statement.
The Sussexes, according to Christopher, “basically made the king’s decision for him.” He also suggested that some of the palace aides be questioned as well.
“The largely faceless courtiers who run the monarchy were clearly taken aback and none too pleased that they were forced to update the royal website, and quickly,” he said.

“It was obviously more important to Harry and Meghan that Archie and Lilibet get the full treatment,” Christopher said, “which seems highly ironic given that the Sussexes are no longer working royals, live half a world away, and spend a great deal of time lobbing grenades over palace walls.”
It is unknown whether Harry, Meghan, and their children will travel to England for King Charles’ coronation in May.
