Whitemoney, the winner of Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” edition, recently shed light on his absence from the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

The star-studded AMVCA event, held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, showcased celebrities flaunting their glamorous outfits on the red carpet. Notably, Vee stunned in an elegant all-pink lace gown paired with a flowing cape and matching gloves.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Whitemoney disclosed the primary reason for his nonattendance at the AMVCA. He cited the exorbitant cost associated with attending the event as a significant deterrent. Whitemoney explained that creating an outfit worthy of the AMVCA could cost millions of Naira, excluding stylist fees. Feeling the pressure to meet the high fashion standards, especially as he doesn’t identify as an actor, Whitemoney made the decision to opt out of the event.

Additionally, Whitemoney advised fellow celebrities to settle their dues with the designers behind their lavish AMVCA ensembles to avoid any potential embarrassment.

He remarked,

“I’ve been receiving inquiries about my absence from the AMVCA. But how could I attend? Have you seen the remarkable outfits these gentlemen are wearing? Neo Akpofure’s attire is striking. Elozonam exuded elegance in an all-white ensemble, resembling an angel descending from heaven to create his own paradise on earth. Saga rocked a charming pink ensemble, reminiscent of a modern-day prince. Their outfits were impeccable.”

“I can’t compete with their styles. Crafting an AMVCA-worthy outfit requires a budget of no less than one million Naira, in addition to stylist expenses. Since I’m not involved in acting, it didn’t bother me.”

“The AMVCA exerts immense pressure. Imagine spending over a million Naira on a dress you’ll only wear once. The ladies completely stole the show. We’ll aim for next year. I can’t quite relate to it. Nonetheless, it’s crucial to settle your dues with designers promptly to prevent any social media backlash.”
