Yul revealed that he once considered the late actor a good friend and brother, but felt repeatedly betrayed by him. He hinted at sharing more details about their conflict to serve as a lesson for others.
“I didn’t want to say anything until after his burial,” Yul wrote. “I know many wondered why I wasn’t there and why I haven’t spoken about it. I treated him like a brother and friend, but he betrayed me multiple times. That’s life. I will share the full story soon so others can learn from it. The couple’s 16-year marriage fell apart after reports of Yul’s infidelity and his marriage to colleague Judy Austin surfaced, leading May to file for divorce and Yul being denied access to their home in Lagos.
In an Instagram post, Rita expressed her frustration over the accusations, emphasizing that despite the online attacks, Yul remains her son just as May continues to see him as the father of her children. She insisted that no amount of speculation could change these familial bonds.
