Eyewitnesses have provided more insight into the arrest of Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, after his attempt to cross the Seme Border was thwarted. According to reports, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) confirmed Bobrisky’s arrest on Monday at the border.

NIS Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo, stated that Bobrisky was detained as he had become “a person of interest due to recent public concerns.”

An eyewitness at the scene shared details, revealing that Bobrisky arrived at the border’s departure section around 1:30 am on Monday in a black Mercedes Benz SUV. Although initially stopped by Port Health officials, his driver proceeded straight to the Immigration checkpoint without halting.

“When they reached the NIS post, Idris handed his passport to the driver for stamping,” the source explained. “However, the immigration officer on surveillance, Yusuf, noticed that the individual in the car was Bobrisky. He immediately called a senior officer, and they quietly informed the Controller of Immigration, Seme Command, Mr. Muhammad Adamu.”

The officers then requested that Bobrisky come forward for passport stamping and verification. However, once he arrived at the surveillance unit, he was escorted to the controller’s office for further questioning.

Another source disclosed that later in the day, Bobrisky’s lawyer arrived at Seme Border to inquire about the reasons behind his arrest. Bobrisky remained in the controller’s office until 4:00 pm, after which he was transferred to the Lagos State Command of the NIS for further investigation.
