Why is the month of march dedicated to just women?

It’s a common misconception that March is Women’s History Month because it commemorates a strike by female garment workers in New York City on March 8, 1857, or 1908.
Despite government intimidation, a group of women from various workplaces allegedly banded together to demand better working conditions and the right to vote. This is false because such an event was not documented in history.

International Women’s Day was first observed on February 28th in order to commemorate a gathering of women suffragists and socialists in Manhattan on that date in 1909.

The United States Congress declared March to be Women’s History Month in 1987. Every president since has designated March as Women’s History Month.

The goal of Women’s History Month is to raise awareness of the unacknowledged contributions of women to culture and society. It’s a month dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of women throughout history.
