Shaffy Bello Gets Real About DMs, Dating Younger Men, and What She Truly Wants Now
At 54, Shaffy Bello is still turning heads—and apparently, still getting DMs from younger men. But the Nollywood star is making it clear: been there, done that, and she’s not going back.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Dear Ife podcast, Shaffy didn’t hold back. She shared how young men often pop into her inbox, and while some messages are flattering, others just leave her shaking her head.
“Yes, they still slide into my DMs,” she said with a smile. “When you’re over 50 and young guys are still trying their luck, it’s cute… but some of them have no home training. When someone just drops a ‘Hi dear’—you really want to call their mother.”
She admitted she once gave dating a younger man a shot. It was fun, it had its moment—but she’s moved on. “That was a season in my life,” Shaffy said. “It was lighthearted and fun, but I’ve outgrown it. I’m not looking for fun anymore—I’m thinking long-term.”
Now, her eyes are on something more serious. Marriage isn’t off the table—but she’s got her own view on what that should look like. “I want marriage, yes. But not the way most people in our society define it. I think we’re too rigid with it here, and I’d rather not go into all that now,” she added.
For context, Shaffy was previously married to Akinrimisi from 1995 to 2020, and they have two children together.
