Nollywood star Adesua Etomi has opened up about the difficult health battles she and her husband, Banky W, faced in 2024.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on her birthday, February 22, 2025, Adesua expressed gratitude for overcoming a year filled with trials that tested her strength and deepened her appreciation for life.
The actress shared that she endured a tough pregnancy marked by months of severe illness, followed by an emergency C-section that put her life at risk. At the same time, her husband, Banky W, had to undergo another surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
“2024 really tried to shake me, but I’m still standing, and I’m thankful,” she wrote. “From battling hyperemesis for months to being hospitalized, then finding out my husband needed another surgery while I was still pregnant—it was overwhelming. And just when I thought I was in the clear, I ended up needing an emergency C-section, leading to one of the toughest recovery journeys of my life.”
Despite these challenges, Adesua remains resilient, drawing strength from her faith and the support of her loved ones.
“My village people came through for me. God has stretched me in ways I never imagined, showing me I’m capable of much more. Now, I’m going after everything that belongs to me. Nothing and no one can stop me,” she declared.
