Baba Fryo Weighs In on 2Baba and Annie’s Marriage Breakdown

Veteran musician Baba Fryo has shared his thoughts on the highly publicized split between singer 2Baba and actress Annie Idibia, suggesting that both parties played a role in the collapse of their marriage.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Fryo didn’t hold back, saying the couple failed to properly manage their relationship—despite both being public figures with years of experience in the spotlight.

“2Face and Annie are both in the entertainment industry—he’s a musician, she’s an actress,” he said. “That kind of dynamic requires a lot of understanding, and from where I stand, they just didn’t handle it well.”

Reflecting on what men look for in a partner, Fryo noted that stability and accountability matter. “When a man is going through tough habits—like drinking or certain behaviors—he needs a woman who can check him, someone who brings balance,” he explained. “But when both partners are caught up in the same vices, it becomes chaos. Who helps the other when things go south?”

Fryo also addressed 2Baba’s new relationship with Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawuru, clarifying that he isn’t necessarily endorsing her either. “I’ve known Natasha since she was a little girl. Her father, Desmond, was my close friend. I’m not saying she’s better—just different.”

While Fryo’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, they tap into broader conversations about celebrity marriages, public expectations, and the unseen pressures that come with life in the spotlight.
