The Police officer, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi at the center for the murder of 26-year-old Victoria Dapaah, popularly known as Maa Adwoa who’s reported to be his girlfriend at Adum in Kumasi has confessed.
He claimed he murdered her because she owed him GH5,000 during their relationship.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, prosecutor ACP Kofi Blagodzi told the Asokore Mampong District Court that the suspect confessed to murdering his lover because she refused to return GH5,000.
Inspector Ahmed Twumasi has been charged with murder and remanded into police custody until May 30, 2023.
Inspector Twumasi was apprehended on April 23, 2023, at his hideout in Sekyere, near Effiduase, after allegedly committing the act on April 20, 2023.
He used multiple shots to assassinate Victoria Dapaah.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s mother has placed her faith in the Inspector General of Police (IGP) that justice will be served.
Adwoa Nyarko, Victoria Dapaah’s mother, stated that the family is looking to the IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to ensure that justice is served to them.
