Veteran Nollywood actor and producer, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has publicly accused teenage actress Angel Unigwe and her mother of breaching a filming contract. In an Instagram post on Friday, Kanayo detailed how Angel’s mother disrupted the filming process by removing her daughter from the set before the agreed-upon contract period ended.
Kanayo explained that he had previously heard similar complaints from other producers about Angel and her mother. He called on Nollywood producers to boycott the young actress, threatening to disrupt any production involving her.
“A particular woman has been holding producers to ransom, and unfortunately, it has now happened to me. This woman, Angel Unigwe’s mother, changes everything once she receives payment,” Kanayo said. “Last night, she took her daughter away at 9 pm, even though the contract was supposed to expire at midnight.”

Kanayo urged his fellow producers to steer clear of working with Angel Unigwe. “From this moment, June 21, 2024, I implore every producer to avoid hiring Angel Unigwe. If I find her on any set, I will ensure filming does not proceed. We had no issues with Angel, but her mother’s behavior has been a problem for many producers.”
As of now, Angel Unigwe and her mother have not responded to these allegations.
