Social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, made an appearance at the National Assembly alongside his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju. He attended a session with the House of Representatives Joint Committee, which is currently investigating corruption allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

Also present at the hearing were representatives from both the EFCC and the Correctional Service, as well as the lawyer for popular crossdresser Bobrisky, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie. However, Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, did not appear in person, with his lawyer representing him instead.

When given the chance to speak, VeryDarkMan declined to do so, citing Bobrisky’s absence. He stated, “Today, I will not say anything because both Bobrisky and I were invited. But since he isn’t here, I see no reason to speak. My lawyer will handle it.”

This session follows the release of a controversial audio recording shared by VeryDarkMan, in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid ₦15 million to EFCC officials to drop a money laundering case against her. The recording also suggested Bobrisky avoided serving a six-month prison sentence, reportedly staying in an apartment instead.

Bobrisky has strongly denied the accusations and has threatened legal action. In response to these developments, the House of Representatives has launched an inquiry to investigate the claims involving the EFCC and NCoS.
