Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, known widely as Kcee, recently shared the story of how he met his wife, Ijeoma, in what he described as love at first sight. In an interview with VJ Adams, Kcee recalled how he met Ijeoma while delivering a wedding invitation for his younger brother, Emeka Okonkwo, also known as E-Money, at Charly Boy’s place.
The moment he saw her, Kcee felt certain he’d found his future wife. “I immediately thought, ‘This is the woman I want to marry,’” he shared, recalling how his friend Presh laughed as he voiced his intention. Despite his direct approach, Ijeoma wasn’t easily convinced—she didn’t initially recognize Kcee and even declined to share her number. Only after a colleague mentioned his identity did she agree.
Their conversations began, and Kcee’s intentions remained clear: he wanted marriage, not dating. “I told her, ‘I don’t want to date; if we start dating, we might never marry.’ People sometimes miss out on happiness because they search for flaws in relationships,” he added.
Kcee and Ijeoma married in 2010, and the two now share a family with their two children.
