Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is sparking fresh political conversation with a bold call for leadership from the South-East in Nigeria’s next presidential election.
In a video shared on his Instagram, Edochie—who has previously voiced support for President Bola Tinubu—made a passionate case for what he described as fairness and regional balance.
“Truth is, it’s time for the South-East to produce the next President of Nigeria,” he said. “For the sake of equity and justice, we need to make room for every region.”
This statement came as a surprise to many, given Edochie’s ongoing encouragement for Nigerians to remain patient with the current administration and economic reforms. While still standing by his belief in Tinubu’s vision, the actor emphasized that his support doesn’t prevent him from advocating for what he believes is right.
Meanwhile, reality TV personality Anita Natacha Akide—popularly known as Tacha—is hinting at a new chapter in her journey: politics.
During an interview on Channels Television, the former Big Brother Naija star spoke about youth participation in governance and her hopes for her home state, Rivers. Tacha made it clear that she’s ready to move from commentary to action.
“I’m not just going to sit on the sidelines and criticize,” she said. “I want to be part of the solution—even though I haven’t decided exactly what role I’ll take yet.”
From Nollywood to reality TV, public figures like Edochie and Tacha are stepping into the political arena, showing a growing desire among entertainers to be part of the national conversation—and the change it demands.
